Breast cancer is a highly heterogeneous disease with significant differences between patients. Microarray-based gene expression profiling can be used for BC typing to determine which treatments are most likely to produce beneficial outcomes for specific patients and to predict BC-specific biomarkers. Cellular microarray enable multiplexed analysis of living cells on a solid support surface. The support, sometimes called a "chip," is covered with different materials, such as antibodies, proteins or lipids, that interact with the cells to capture them at specific spots. Combinations of different materials can be found in a given area that, when specific interactions are present, can not only capture cells but also trigger cellular responses, phenotypic changes, or detect cellular responses.
