Whole exome sequencing (WES) analyzes the protein-coding regions of the genome in breast cancer samples. This technique identifies genetic variants that may drive tumorigenesis, offering critical insights into the molecular mechanisms of breast cancer and potential therapeutic targets. Alfa Cytology offers a comprehensive suite of breast cancer whole exome sequencing services for our clients.
Breast cancer (BC) accounts for more than half of all cancer-related deaths in women globally and is the most commonly diagnosed type of disease. In addition to being a severe blow to patients' quality of life and economic burden, breast cancer represents a significant public health risk due to the increased prevalence and mortality of female breast cancer. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are tiny membranous vesicles present on the outside of cells, formed by the cell to transport a range of functional nucleic acids, proteins, and lipid cargoes required for intercellular communication. There is growing evidence for a newly discovered mechanism leading to drug resistance known as exosome-mediated cellular communication. Exosomes directly export drugs, leading to drug inactivation and the transfer of functional proteins and non-coding RNAs, all of which contribute to drug resistance in BC.

As key messengers in intercellular communication, exosomes are involved in angiogenesis, metastasis, anticancer drug resistance, immune evasion, macrophage polarization, and metabolic reprogramming, and have become a hotspot of innovation in the study of disease markers, disease mechanisms, and drug development. Alfa Cytology's team of experts can help you analyze exosomes from serum, plasma, saliva, urine, breast milk, lymph fluid and other types of samples.
Services | Descriptive |
Exosome isolation and characterization | Different exosome isolation methods are selected for different isolation purposes, including the use of ultrafast differential centrifugation, ultrafiltration, OptiPrep density gradient centrifugation and immunoprecipitation (IP). With appropriate methods, we can isolate a relatively homogeneous population of microvesicles of uniform size with high specificity and without affecting the subsequent analysis of the results. |
Exosome quantification and calibration size services | It is possible to detect the size and distribution concentration of exosomes present in biological samples. |
Exosome CRO services | We provide industrial-scale exosome extraction, independently developed extraction kits, process development and optimization, pharmaceutical and drug delivery technology research, exosome-drug nanocarrier delivery system technology development, exosome molecular markers, safety evaluation and efficacy verification services. |
Exosomal RNA analysis service | RNA analysis of exosomes can be used to identify cell- or tissue-specific markers for diagnostic or prognostic purposes. |
