Business Development Executive

Full-time New York, United States

This would be an ideal position for someone who is already working in sales or business development, has a degree in life sciences, and has excellent communication skills. The qualified candidate will lead our team in expanding into pharmaceutical, biotech to research institutions. This role of business development executive will report to the vice president of global sales and interact frequently with the field sales, marketing, business development, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

Key Tasks/Accountabilities:

  • Identify, qualify and develop new sales opportunities and markets with relevant business development managers.
  • Increase sales value and control costs according to the company's marketing strategy.
  • Manage and lead the marketing team in various activities to generate leads.
  • Explore and cultivate potential customers and build relationships with client project teams which result in client satisfaction.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and conferences to generate leads, stay abreast of client strategies, goals and objectives, and understand the competition.
  • Maintain good communication with customers and grasp their needs in real-time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology, genetics, genomics, biochemistry, or related fields.
  • More than five years of experience in a commercial or sales role, preferably within the life sciences industry.
  • Strong pioneering spirit, active customer service awareness, and strong management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with a variety of personality types inside and outside the company.
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis capabilities, ability to find and timely solve problems.
  • Team goal-oriented and efficient time management skills.
  • Able to work under stress.
