Tumor Model Development for Pancreatic Cancer
Alfa Cytology is a leading biology contract research organization (CRO). We have extensive experience in constructing pancreatic cancer (PC) models. Several popular pancreatic cancer models are available at our company, including pancreatic cancer cell models, pancreatic cancer organoids, genetically engineered mouse models, and transplantation models. Each model has its characteristics and applications.
Introduction to Tumor Models
The matrix content of pancreatic cancer accounted for 90% of the total tumor volume. Extracellular matrix (ECM) components, such as collagen, cell adhesion proteins, and hyaluronic acid, and cellular components, such as cancer-associated fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and immune cells, promote pancreatic cancer tumor progression and metastasis, metabolism, and angiogenesis. These tumor microenvironment (TME) components form a fibrotic area that can prevent drugs from reaching the tumor. There is a growing demand for preclinical models that can accurately mimic TME.

Our Services
It is necessary to establish a suitable preclinical pancreatic cancer model to promote the research of new therapeutic targets and further explore the mechanism of pancreatic cancer occurrence, development, invasion, and metastasis. Alfa Cytology offers many popular pancreatic cancer models, including but not limited to the following.
Newly established pancreatic cancer cell lines may provide sufficient models for studying the broader biological and molecular features of pancreatic cancer.
Alfa Cytology establishes cell culture-based methods for tumor cell isolation and expansion for further molecular and functional testing, including in vitro 2D culture systems.
The 3D model simulates the three-dimensional structure of the tumor and can be manually controlled, overcoming the limitations of traditional 2D models.
Alfa Cytology understands the different types of cell culture conditions that can support normal and malignant human pancreatic tissue culture.
To investigate and evaluate novel therapies, Alfa Cytology has launched a systematic pancreatic cancer research animal model platform. Our platform is based on a range of technologies, such as CRISPR-Cas9 technology.
Besides, we also offer a complete suite of laboratory services, including:
- Experimental consultation and design
- Selection of appropriate cell line/cancer model
- Host animal selection
- Experimental observation and recording
- Post-experiment analysis
