Vulvar Cancer

Vulvar cancer is a cancer of the female external genitals. It affects the vulva, including the outer and inner lips of the vagina, the clitoris, and the vaginal opening. Alfa Cytology is a world leader in the research of gynecologic cancer. With our extensive experience and advanced platform, we can provide the best solutions for vulvar cancer.

Introduction to Vulvar Cancer

Vulvar cancer can develop in various structures in the vulva, including squamous cells, melanocytes, the great vestibular gland, or sweat glands. It is a relatively rare cancer, accounting for about 5% of all gynecological cancers.

Epitope and Target of Vulvar Cancer

For many years, researchers have been studying various epitopes or molecular targets associated with vulvar cancer to develop targeted therapies. Some potential targets for the therapy of vulvar cancer include the following types.

  • Human papillomavirus (HPV)
  • HER2/neu

Therapy Development for Vulvar Cancer

The main vulvar cancer therapy includes operation, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. However, with the deepening understanding and research of cancer, some new research areas are becoming hot spots.

  • Tumor microenvironment
  • Mechanism of drug resistance

Compared with other gynecological cancers, the research and development field of vulvar cancer is relatively small. However, some companies have already been involved in gynecological cancer drugs or therapy development. For example, OncoGenex Pharmaceuticals, whose main research drug Custirsen is a targeted therapy, has shown potential in preclinical studies of gynecological malignancies.

Our Services

Vaginal cancer is a relatively rare disease in which malignant (cancerous) cells form in the vagina. Multiple factors influence prognosis and therapy options. Therefore, Alfa Cytology is working on providing one-stop solutions for vulvar cancer, including but not limited to the following.

Models of Vulvar Cancer

The vulvar cancer model is a key tool in uncovering the complexities of this cancer. Alfa Cytology offers a range of models tailored to simulate the development and progression of vulvar cancer.

Services Descriptions
Animal Model Selection According to the research objectives and desired outcomes, we help researchers choose the most suitable animal model for vulvar cancer study. Our available models include the following.
Animal Model Development Our skilled technical team will employ state-of-the-art techniques to develop and validate the chosen animal model for vulvar cancer research.
In Vivo Imaging and Monitoring To facilitate the assessment and monitoring of tumor growth, metastasis, and response to therapies, we provide advanced in vivo imaging techniques. These include bioluminescence imaging, fluorescence imaging, and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, allowing track tumor progression and evaluate therapeutic efficacy in real-time.

Alfa Cytology is committed to the research and study of cancer, from cell therapy development services, immune checkpoint inhibitor development services, to cancer drug development services, providing one-stop solutions. Our cancer experts have many years of experience in the development of the latest therapies for vulvar cancer. If you are interested in our service, please contact us.
