Molecular Glue Degrader Development Service

Molecular glue degraders (MGDs) refer to a class of compounds that facilitate interactions between two proteins or molecules within a cell. These compounds act as bridges to enhance specific protein-protein interactions (PPIs). Alfa Cytology is committed to providing a comprehensive one-stop MGDs development service.

Introduction to Molecular Glue Degraders

Molecular glue degraders (MGDs) are a novel class of small molecule drugs that enhance affinity between proteins, induce close proximity between target and effector proteins, and utilize cellular proteostasis mechanisms to promote degradation of target proteins. Currently, a number of development programs have been undertaken to develop innovative molecular glue degraders for prostate cancer. These trials may lead to new therapeutic options for prostate cancer treatment, especially for targets that are traditionally considered non-druggable.

The distribution of targets for molecular glue compounds in various clinical indications provides insight into the current research and development landscape in this field. Among the identified indications, the largest number of targets for molecular glue compounds are in the field of oncology, with a focus on liquid tumors, including AML, leukemia, and myeloproliferative tumors (MPNs), as well as solid tumors.

Classification of Molecular Glue

Molecular glue (MG) is a small, monovalent molecule that induces proximity by either stabilizing natural protein interactions or inducing protein neomorphic interactions. Molecular glues can be further divided into three main categories: degradative molecular glues, non-degradative molecular glues or protein-interacting stabilizers, and molecular glues that induce self-association .

Degradative molecular glues are small molecules that promote the degradation of specific proteins by interacting with proteins and labeling them for recognition and degradation by the cell's

Non-degradable molecular glues are a class of small molecules that enhance or stabilize interactions between proteins. They function within cells by binding to specific regions of proteins and facilitating the formation of protein complexes.

Induced self-binding molecular glues are a class of small molecules capable of inducing interactions between different parts of the same protein or different protein molecules to form self-binding structures.
